About 35 percent of the mathematics problems on the CBEST will involve the question types described below. Some information, especially the logic rules, may be new to you. Don’t worry—there will be very little information to memorize in this chapter. The following topics will be covered:

Numerical relationships. Recognizing the position of numbers in relation to each other.

Rounding. Using the rules of rounding when solving problems.

Solving problems with graphs. Taking information contained in tables and graphs to solve math problems.

Recognizing trends in information presented in graphs.

Finding missing information in graphs.

Rules of logic. Understanding and applying basic logical connectives.
